ABOUT

Since April 2022 under the Delta X program, three SEAD alumni—Khin Thethar Latt from Myanmar, Sinath Sous from Cambodia and Thanupon Yindee from Thailand—have been in dialogue with the curator Pillai Janet, assistant curator Foo Wei Meng and leading practitioners from Asia (Sumiko Kumakura from Japan, Kok Heng Leun from Singapore, and Vorpoj Osathapiratana from Thailand) on the practice of Socially-Engaged Arts and its many manifestations in the region. With the new insights and takeaways from those online discussion sessions, the three Delta X fellows were asked individually to propose and initiate a small experimental idea where they could explore using more creative approaches or methods to engage a local community focusing on a specific issue or interest.

In this online session, the three Delta X fellows will share their learnings and reflection on Socially-Engaged Arts as a result of the various dialogue sessions. They will also present the impact and challenges of using creative approaches in engaging local community in their experiments. The attendees/participants are encouraged to further the dialogue via Q & A during the session.
