I wouldn't have survived without my laptop during the pandemic. Without my laptop, I would have been jobless while attending to my at-risk baby in the hospital. Without my laptop, I wouldn't have been able to pay my bills. Without my laptop, I wouldn't have gotten help from my friends and collaborators or even seen their faces. Without my laptop, I would have had to rely on listening to music on my cheap phone with my aging senses. Without my laptop, my wife would have been annoyed with me for borrowing hers. Without my laptop, I would have had to hold books to read and probably had better eyesight. Without my laptop, my one-year-old baby wouldn't have been suspicious of the black object which I seemed to be deeply committed to. Without my laptop, I would have had a good reason to get a new one.
