Lyra Garcellano's research has centered on the investigation of art ecosystems, as well as historical narratives that pertain to land, labor, identity and migration. Her output is often presented as paintings, installations, moving images, comics and writing.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary studies from Ateneo De Manila University, a BFA degree from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, along with a Masters of Art in Theory and Criticism from the Department of Art Studies, also from the University of the Philippines.
