Jen Gamboa is a cultural worker in the Philippines working on practice-led and community-led projects with the Dumagat indigenous people of Dingalan, Aurora Province, to support their efforts for land rights, self-determination, and resistance against cultural erasure. She also leads the photo and video documentation of cultural mapping initiatives to archive community knowledge, beliefs, and practices.
A multidisciplinary artist, Jen works across multimedia, ceramic art, and music. She earned her BA in Broadcast Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman and was a performing arts scholar with the university’s resident ethnic music and dance ensemble, Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Kontra-GaPi), later serving as its head trainer. She was also the percussionist of the all-women fusion band Inkantada.
Her work situates arts practice and documentation as tools for Indigenous people's cultural preservation and self-determination.
