Yi-Fang Cheng is a Taiwan-based dance researcher, performance reviewer, and independent theatre producer working at the intersection of academic research and performing arts practice. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Graduate Institute of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA). Her research focuses on contemporary Japanese dance, and investigates the relationship between sound and movement in space—a perspective informed by her background in music.
She collaborates with organizations such as the Taiwan Dance Research Society (TDRS), Reviewing Performing Arts Taiwan, PAR Performing Arts Magazine, and KSC PANGCAH DT on projects spanning research, writing, project coordination, marketing, and public programming. She received the Performing Arts Project Critic Award from the National Culture and Arts Foundation in 2019 and 2021.
