Jia Min is an adventurous and curious researcher of life, with a decade of experience in conducting experiential learning programs about socio-emotional leadership and environmental issues in Southeast Asia. More recently, she has been exploring arts-based and asset-based approaches to community development (including forum theatre, puppetry, writing, facilitating community tours) while being an assistant drama educator with a Specialist Diploma in Applied Drama and Psychology. Added with her experience doing ecological field work in mangroves and tropical forests, and backpacking and having deep talks with strangers and friends, she hopes to create spaces for communities in Southeast Asia to conduct dialogue and take ownership over realising the community’s aspirations and addressing problems and injustices. She also writes creative non-fiction and poetry, and is working on a semi-autobiographical monodrama about a girl who wants to do everything but also wants to be a Buddha. She is based in Southeast Asia and calls Singapore home.
